Cataloguers note: The importance of this footage centres on the fact that this was the first step of the longest war in American history slowly winding down. It was not until finally on April 30th, 1975 that North Vietnamese forces took Saigon and the already waning American war effort capitulated completely. These initial talks in Paris symbolised the first step in ending the conflict.
