The nurse walks over to another patient and fits a special belt round the patient's waist. A wire is then placed under the patient's arm and is connected to the patient's ear. C/U nurse at "central control panel" (large computer). The nurse dials the patient's allocated number into telephone connected to the computer. Various shots of dials and number boards moving on computer: these tell the nurse the patient's temperature, pulse rate and respiration rate. C/U dials, pan down to nurse writing on patient's chart. C/U the nurse.
The invention allows a nurse to keep track of whole ward without moving from her desk.
