  • Short Summary

Footage of the scene where the aviator Charles Lindbergh.

  • Description

    Where Lindbergh landed in France.

Seems to be another aviator landing on the same field in France where Charles Lindbergh had landed. (There was a competition to be first to make the transatlantic flight; and others followed after L.'s success.) Opens w/ CU flat monument; propped up; w/ words engraved in French. Translation: Charles Lindbergh after having crossed the Atlantic; landed here; 22 May; 1927. Men walking & running across field as aeroplane lands in BG. Crowd swarming round plane; incl. journalists; photographers; 1 other cameraman carrying movie camera past.

CU held up above heads of crowd; w/ bouquet of flowers. Several men move his aeroplane; pushing it across field. More of crowd looking over crowd to in BG. Pilot shaking hands & talking w/ crowd; hangar in BG. He & another man walk toward cam.; crowd standing behind them. They stop & the man shows the pilot the monument; to be set in the ground. Then the pilot and the 2 officials take turns reaching down; scooping something out of container w/ trowel and dropping it on ground in front of the stone. Rather confusing: it would make sense for Lindbergh himself to be helping to set the stone; but why this other aviator?. (He does look a bit like L. but not as handsome. Maybe he is L.'s cousin or something.). Crowd walking. Aviation; stunts.

(Spellings for search purposes - Lindburg, Lindberg, Lindburgh).
