    An Antarctic expedition, under veteran explorer Admiral Richard Byrd sets off. L/S the ship. Elevated views of specially constructed planes and a helicopter on the deck. C/U of a husky dog with the stars and stripes flying behind it. C/U of Rear Admiral Cruzen, 2nd in command, holding a husky puppy. M/S of Admiral Byrd holding another one. Various shots as the ship moves off, American sailors lean out of the portholes and wave.

    South Africa. M/S as a hand reaches up and picks a peach from a tree. A pretty girl eats one. Various shots as the peaches are picked, packed and loaded onto a ship bound for Britain.

    Palestine. Jewish immigrants, released from detention in Cyprus, arrive at Haifa. C/U nurses waiting on the quay to assist the immigrants off the ship. A Star of David is painted on the ship in the background. Various shots of refugees disembarking. C/U as nurses handle babies as they come off the ship. Various shots as the immigrants eat and drink. C/U of some of them.

    Egypt. L/S of the pyramids, someone rides by on a camel. British families set out from Cairo in army lorries to start a new life in South Africa. One family, the Ashingtons, went off alone and had to be rescued by aeroplane. M/S's as the trekkers have some refreshment and cook with a spirit stove. C/U's as Carol Brown aged 3 helps to pack the eggs. C/U of a driver and his mate at the wheel of a lorry checking the route on a map. L/S as the three army lorries laden with people move off.
